About the wine
Montemajor is an up-and-coming winery in Campania, which is under the care of top winemaker Mario Ercolino and is run by his wife Roberta Pirone. Mario has made a name for himself with first-class Aglianico wines. With Montemajor, he also creates wines in Sicily and Puglia.

Tasting note
In the glass, it glows ruby red with purple reflections. The nose is beguiled by intense, persistent aromas of red berries. On the palate, it is powerful and fruity, with nuances of licorice, blueberries and blackcurrants.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with braised or fried meat, spicy cheeses and hearty Mediterranean cuisine.
Vinification
The Maravento, made from 100% Syrah, embodies the wild beauty of Sicily. Grown on lime-rich soils and harvested in September, it is vinified through cool pre- and controlled maceration over approximately 15 days. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels for six months to further refine its structure and complexity.
