About the wine
With the powerful Trebbiano 2017 — MARANGONA Lugana DOC, nuances and accents are redefined. The winemaker from the Italian winery Marangona is absolutely proficient in his craft. Style and finesse are the characteristics of this white wine, which originates in the beautiful and fertile countryside of Lombardy. Flaschenpöstler culinary tip: This Trebbiano is very good to serve with poultry or an Asian noodle pan.

Tasting note
The roots of Azienda Marangona go back to 1692 and is named after the town where it is established. Alessandro Cutolo only joined here at the beginning of this century, but right from the start, his wines embody what is typical of the appellation, contrary to a widespread tendency towards “consumer-friendly” sweet Lugana. Alessndro Cutolo can draw on a very old vineyard. The vines from which the grapes for the Lugana Marangona are harvested are on average over 25 years old. It is the old vines that give the wine its salty minerality, making it an exciting aperitif or a delicious accompaniment to food. Fermentation and aging into ready-to-drink wine takes place exclusively in stainless steel tanks in order to preserve the maximum fruity notes of the aromas.
