About the wine
Achaval Ferrer is a relatively small but all the more refined winery in the province of Mendoza, the wine-growing center of Argentina and founded as a joint project by Santiago Achaval and Manuel Ferrer Minetti. The vineyards reach up to 1100 m and are planted with vines, some of which are up to a hundred years old. Achaval Ferrer today enjoys the reputation of a Rolls Royce among top Argentinian wines. Tasting note
Santiago Achaval and Manuel Ferrer founded their Achaval-Ferrer winery in Argentina's most important wine-growing region of Mendoza at the end of the 1990s. Within a very short period of time, the wines became the top quality in the country. Achaval-Ferrer is now part of the Tenute del Mondo group, as does Ornellaia. The estate's great treasure are vineyards with vines over a hundred years old, which are located at 700 — 1100 meters above sea level. - Malbec, the “national grape variety” of Argentina, exudes intense, fresh fruit and spice. Strong on the palate, excellently balanced and with the incomparable Achaval-Ferrer freshness.
