Tasting note
The Liestaler Pinot Noir impresses with its bright ruby red. It is full, elegant with a wonderful freshness. Aromas of red berries, some cherry and sour cream inspire both the nose and the palate and result in a smooth and spicy finish. A refreshing Pinot Noir from the capital of the Basel region.
Culinary recommendation
A treat with cold platters, sausages, poultry and veal.
Vinification
The grapes for Liestaler Pinot Noir come from steep, partly terraced vineyards in the Liestaler Uetental. The grapes are cut in half before the color change to obtain more concentrated berries and to prevent diseases. The grapes are harvested by hand before the grapes are fermented in the cellar after a cool maceration period at controlled temperatures. The maturing takes place in stainless steel tanks.
