Tasting note
Medium ruby red. Complex bouquet of black berries, licorice, ripe fruit, black chocolate and herbs. Sweet start on the palate, with well-integrated acidity and tannins. Very rich in taste, aromas of ripe plums, black pepper and cedarwood. The aftertaste is long-lasting, accompanied by sweetness and a subtle wood tone.
Vinification
After harvesting, the grapes are mashed in so-called lagares for around 2-3 days. As soon as around half of the sugar is converted into alcohol, fermentation is stopped with aroma-free brandy. This is followed by a 6-year aging in used wooden barrels.
