About the wine
The provocative red wine 2016 — Lagrein Riserva Gries Alto Adige DOC is the missing piece of the puzzle on your wine rack. Picturesque and blooming landscapes in South Tyrol give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Italian winery Terlan conjures up this red wine with refinement and sensitivity. Tasting note
In the glass, strong ruby to garnet red with subtle violet reflections. The scent reveals earthy mineral notes that are beautifully combined with fruity aromas, with the scent of sour cherries and plum jam as well as dark chocolate in particular. These spicy yet velvety fruit notes also create excitement on the palate, where this Lagrein Riserva is extremely complex with a complex richness.
Culinary recommendation
Goes wonderfully with Mediterranean cuisine, game, fine cuts of meat and aged cheese.
Vinification
Mash fermentation at controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for 12 months partly in large wooden barrels (50%) and partly in barriques (50%). The assemblage is carried out three months before the bottle is filled.
