About the wine

The family winery in southern Sicily was only founded in the 90s on Lake Arancio in the province of Agrigento. The owners are the cousins Alessio, Francesca and Santi Planeta, who, with the help of internationally renowned oenologist Carlo Corino, turned the old winery into a top Italian business with cutting-edge cellar technology within a few years. Autochthonous and international grape varieties are grown on the vineyards, with particular attention being paid to cultivating the right grape variety in the right soil. Their motto is to provide a modern interpretation of historical traditions and grape varieties. For Robert Parker, Planeta is considered the reference asset of this region par excellence. La Segreta is named after the small forest that surrounds the vineyard.
