Tasting note
A great classic with a nice terroir note. Léoville-Barton owes much of its quality to the well-drained gravel soil. The wine is thick, dark reddish brown and reveals an extremely complex bouquet from the very first contact. The taste goes from a full, meaty, silky finish to a tannin-rich yet deliciously juicy and very long finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with roast beef, stews, cheese.
Vinification
Dark purple. Tempting notes of blueberries, blackberries, some dark chocolate, violets and cardamom. Powerful on the palate with rich, ripe tannins and a very long-lasting finish. The blend consists of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon and 18% Merlot and 60% is aged in new barriques.
