About the wine

Tasting note
The single-vineyard wine “La Hoya” comes from a plot of 3.6 hectares of vineyard in the village of Elvillar de Álava in Rioja created in 1965. The characterful Tempranillo smells of anise and mint, stone fruit, fresh tobacco and white pepper. On the palate, it is dark fruity, spicy and beautifully structured with very silky, subtle tannins, full-bodied and with an elegant aftertaste. In short: a finesse, elegant yet spirited Tempranillo experience that will definitely appeal to Burgundy fans too!
Culinary recommendation
Our recommendation: The organic red wine tastes best at slightly chilled 16°-18°C. Recommended by Flaschenpöstlern: La Hoya goes perfectly with polenta, barbecue and pizza.
Vinification
La Hoya is a vineyard of over 3 hectares with exposure to the east, similar to Valdegines. Despite morning sun, the vines, which are over 50 years old, benefit from the cool climate in the mountains near Elvillar and Álava.
