If you're looking for something special, then don't miss out on this striking Merlot 2016 — Komptur Cuvée. You can describe the landscape in Lower Austria with words such as hilly or mountainous. However, the Austrian Weingut Hagn is trying to express the beauty of its homeland with this red wine. We think he succeeded! Tasting note
Aged 60% in large wooden barrels and 40% in barriques. The nose shows aromas of dark berries, cherry compote and a touch of nougat. Plus fine herbal spices and subtle roasted notes. Powerful on the palate, with fine, well-integrated tannins and good length.
Culinary recommendation
It goes wonderfully with pasta with ragout, juicy goulash or baked chicken with cranberries, but also with sausages or spare ribs from the grill.
