About the wine
This top wine from Clare Valley embodies everything we love about Australian wines: deep red color, rich berry notes and the highest quality. Shiraz is the ultimate Australian grape. The wine's name honors Mr. Killerman, a figure from the winemaker's childhood. The frugal Mr. Killerman lived in a simple hut in the hills near Kilikanoon. Self-sufficient and at one with nature, it symbolizes Kilikanoon's commitment to perform at its best in harmony with the environment. Robert Parker says: “Kilikanoon is one of Australia's most well-managed wineries and the quality of the entire portfolio is impressive” — we agree!

Tasting note
Colour Deep purple, nose Fragrant red berries and light oak notes with sweet spice and dried herbs. Palate Dark cherries and sweet spices from Grenache as well as full-bodied plum and chocolate notes from Shiraz are in the foreground. Seamlessly interwoven with cured meat and dried herbs from Mataro, which are further enhanced by firm tannins and subtle, woody nuances of French oak.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with beef, savory arancini and hand-cut French fries.
Vinification
Each individual plot was vinified separately and remained so until the final wine was put together. Ageing in a selection of aged French oak barrels for 15 months gives softness and elegance to the silky palate.
