About the wine

In 1993, the Pliger family was the first to plant Riesling in the Eisack Valley. It was not until 2002 that Riesling was recognized as a DOC variety in South Tyrol, which is why the wine was previously named Kaiton. Kaiton is of Celtic origin and means forest. The area around the Kuenhof and the village of Tschötsch above was originally named that way.
