About the wine
Picturesque and sunny landscapes of the Alentejo give us these grapes, from which the winemaker from the Portuguese winery Dona Maria – Julio T. Bastos conjures up this red wine with refinement and experience. You will certainly have a lot of fun with the fine Julio B. Bastos VR Dona Maria, which was produced in 2014.

Tasting note
Dark crimson, convinces with its distinctive bouquet of plums, blackberries, cherry and dark chocolate. Soft on the palate with round tannins and a long finish. Sensational!

Ideal with lamb, beef and game or a nice accompaniment to strong cheeses
Vinification
This wine pays homage to Júlio B. Bastos, father of Júlio T. Bastos. Only 2500 bottles of it were produced and until now only in 2004. In keeping with paternal tradition, it was made from 100% Alicante Bouschet. The grapes were trampled with their feet in marble tanks and then matured slowly for 14 months in new French barriques. After bottling in 2006, the wine rested in the bottle for a further 2 years
