Tasting note
DOC Irpinia comprises about 300 hectares of vineyards. The main grape varieties are Greco and Fiano for white wines and Aglianico for red wine. At least 85% of an Irpinia wine must consist of the specified grape variety; the remaining portion may be supplemented with other varieties approved in the province of Avellino. Recently, Salvatore Molettieri has relied exclusively on Aglianico — the long-established, autochthonous grape variety that gives the wine its maximum expression of origin and character. Its spice and majestic elegance make it a true ambassador for this pristine, picturesque region.
