About the wine
The Iona winery is located in the Elgin wine-growing region. Where you think you've finally lost your way, another 20 km and you come straight to the former apple farm. Andrew Gunn and his family bought the beautiful one in 1997. With their great motivation and commitment, they renovated the property and turned it into a beautiful wine farm. The name Iona comes from the legendary island of the same name west of Scotland. The Gunn family can trace their roots back to the time when the Vikings landed in Scotland in 900.

Tasting note
Dense cherry red. Red and black fruit aromas. white pepper and exotic spices. Intense on the palate, some cedarwood followed by a long, earthy finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with Bobotie, is a meatloaf from South Africa. Ideal with grilled springbok meat, bock and kudus.
