About the wine
Merum Priorati is located near the town of Porrera in the east of the Priory. The mighty Montsant protects it from the cold north winds, the night winds from the nearby sea bring cooling. Porrera is therefore one of the coolest corners of the otherwise very hot Priory. The vines appreciate this and thank it with finesse and elegance. The slate dominated soils are not very deep, forcing the vines to take deep roots and bring complexity, richness and minerality to the wines. In addition to international vines, the grape variety table also includes traditional Garnacha and Carignena.

Tasting note
The Inici Merum Priorati has a dark cherry red with brick-colored reflections. On the nose, complex aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant, anise and leather. Despite its full body, Inici Merum Priorati is elegant on the palate. The tannin is fine-grained and the acid is well integrated. The Inici Merum Priorati shows fine wood notes from French oak aging. The wine was bottled unfiltered and embellished.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with duck breast with sweet potato puree, truffle ravioli and raw milk cheese.
