Tasting note
Between Florence and Pisa, in an unadulterated landscape characterized by soft hills, is the dreamy Borgo Ghizzano with an imposing castle, owned by the family of Ginevra Venerosi Pesciolini since 1370. In addition to extensive agriculture, it also includes 16 ha of vines, which thrive excellently in this particularly mild climate. In the past, a Chianti Colline Pisane was pressed here and sold loose. Today, the small winery is one of the elite in Tuscany, especially with their two wines Veneroso and Nambrot. It is impossible to imagine this duo without Ginevra's latest creation, Il Ghizzano, a friendly and accessible blend of Sangiovese and Merlot, in different proportions depending on the vintage, but always a wonderfully digestible wine: strong bouquet, spicy, fruity (black cherry, eucalyptus), very powerful, rich. Notes of exotic wood. Velvety on the palate, full and balanced.

Vinification
Ein paar Worte zur Vinifikation: Zwischen Florenz und Pisa, in einer von weichen Hügelzügen geprägten, unverfälschten Landschaft, befindet sich der verträumte Borgo Ghizzano samt imposantem Castello, seit 1370 im Besitz der Familie von Ginevra Venerosi Pesciolini. Nebst einer ausgedehnten Landwirtschaft gehören auch 16 ha Reben dazu, die in diesem besonders milden Klima vorzüglich gedeihen. Früher wurde hier ein Chianti Colline Pisane gekeltert und lose verkauft. Heute zählt das kleine Weingut zur Elite der Toscana, insbesondere mit deren beiden Weinen Veneroso und Nambrot.
