A Japanese idealist and Tuscan winemaking using organic principles: How long will Bulichella remain a hot-traded secret tip? The Bulichella winery is located just under a kilometer outside the village of Suvereto, and its vineyards border directly on those of Tua Rita. The owner of Bulichella is the Japanese Miyakawa Hideyuki, who settled in Suvereto with his Italian wife Maria Luisa many years ago and invested in vineyards and cellars for Alessandro Bonaguidi's family. In honor of the owner's wife, who died early, the excellent single-varietal Merlot was therefore christened “Maria Shizuko”. The extremely friendly Alessandro Bonaguidi cultivates Bulichella according to biodynamic principles and uses both the traditional Tuscan varieties Sangiovese and Vermentino, as well as the classic Bordeaux varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Merlot.
