About the wine

The 17th century in France is known as the “Grand Siècle” (Great Century), known for human creations that surpass nature. Louis XIV, the “Sun King,” created a model of harmony and perfection with the Palace of Versailles and its gardens. The “jardins à la française”, the orangery and the technical masterpieces such as fountains and ponds are examples of the sublimation of nature. The name “Grand Siècle” was chosen for Laurent-Perrier's Prestige Cuvée to represent this vision of perfection.

Tasting note
White gold color with delicate and persistent perlage. Very complex bouquet with aromas of dried ginger pieces, cytric notes, followed by notes of hazelnuts and a hint of toasted bread. The mouth starts off very elegant and fresh with aromas of candied lemon and fresh hazelnuts. The palate is silky and mineral with a lively, invigorating juiciness.
Culinary recommendation
Grand Siècle Iteration N° 26 goes well with high-quality products and sophisticated dishes, seafood and fine fish, white meats such as Thai-style langoustine tartare or chicken de Bresse. Serving temperature: between 10°C and 12°C.
Vinification
The idea of the Grand Siècle is based on one statement: Nature will probably never give us the perfect vintage, but the art of assemblage can create it. Far beyond rare vintages, Grand Siècle is the result of a selection of three outstanding years whose oenological profiles complement each other. Grand Siècle is the unique embodiment of Champagne's quest for perfection. Assemblage from the 2012 (65%), 2008 (25%) and 2007 (10%) vintages. A maturation period of more than 10 years in the cellar.
