Tasting note
The glass of the Gordola barrique is deep ruby red with purple reflections. On the nose, intense aromas of dark berries, ripe cherries and plums develop, accompanied by elegant roasted aromas, vanilla and fine spicy notes. On the palate, the wine appears powerful and balanced, with ripe tannins, fine wood notes and a velvety texture. The aftertaste is long, harmonious and spicy.
Culinary recommendation
Ideal with fried or braised meat, game dishes, pasta with strong sauces or aged cheese.
Vinification
The Merlot grapes are selectively harvested by hand and traditionally vinified. The wine is aged over several months in French barriques, which gives the wine structure, finesse and complexity.
