About the wine

To mark the winery's 100th anniversary, the oenologist Josef Krug, together with his two sons Michael and Reto, each created a wine according to their ideal vision. The result is three top-class private wines from the 2018 vintage, all aged in new Swiss barriques for at least 36 months and limited to 225 liters. The Josef Krug & Co. winery was founded in 1922 in Winterthur. The winery processes and presses Blauburgunder grapes from the Zurich wine region using traditional methods to produce featherwhite, classic Pinot Noir, or lets the wine mature in local oak barrels to make our Pinot Noir Barrique or Goldenberge Cuvée. Each vintage should represent the character of the year, which is why the wines are standardized as little as necessary and only enhanced when necessary.
