About the wine

The Josef Krug & Co. winery was founded in 1922 in Winterthur. The winery processes and presses Blauburgunder grapes from the Zurich wine country using traditional methods to produce feather whites, classic Pinot Noir or allows the wine to mature in local oak barrels to form our Pinot Noir barrique or Goldenberge cuvée. Each vintage should represent the character of the year, which is why the wines are standardized as little as necessary and only brightened up if necessary. A good wine takes time, so it is based on the ripeness of the wine and this determines when the new vintage is bottled, which can be autumn if you like. Thanks to the traditional production method, Krug wines have very good storage properties.
