Tasting note
The special feature of Glenfiddich Solera Reserve is a special Solera oak barrel, which is used to marry selected barrels (sherry, bourbon and new oak) in which the whiskey has been dormant for 15 years or more.
Vinification
For 20 years, William Grant had the dream of making “the best whiskey in the valley.” With the help of his family, he finally made his dream come true. In the summer of 1886, William, together with his seven sons and two daughters, began to fulfill his lifelong dream. Together, they began building a distillery, brick by brick. After a year of hard work, it was time for William to call her Glenfiddich, Gaelic for “Valley of the Deer.” William's passion, determination and pioneering spirit have shaped Glenfiddich to the present day. The world's most awarded single malt Scotch whiskey is still produced today in the distillery, which is still family-owned and has been able to preserve the innovative character of its founder over five generations.
