About the wine
Galatrona is the figurehead of the Petrolo winery — a single-varietal Merlot from the top location of the same name and has long been an icon among the Super Tuscans. The wine comes from soils rich in clay, marl, Alberese and sandstone — a geological feature that ensures exceptional concentration and depth. A meditative wine — thoughtfully composed and with impressive depth. It's already a great pleasure — but it has potential for decades.
Tasting note
A strong body and distinctive acidity result in the fruity red wine, which harmoniously shows a lot of character and class with fine tannins in the mouth.
Culinary recommendation
Flaschenpöstler-Tipp: Goes perfectly with duck, slightly spicy red meat and poultry. Our recommendation: The perfect drinking temperature for the red wine is a slightly chilled 16°-18°C. The recommended enjoyment phase of this wine is in the following period: Now until 2029.
