Tasting note
In the glass, the Gaio appears in a strong ruby red with purple reflections. On the nose, intense aromas of dark berries, ripe cherries and plums develop, accompanied by fine notes of spices, tobacco and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, the wine is powerful, full-bodied and balanced, with well-integrated tannins, fresh structure and a long, aromatic-spicy finish.
Culinary recommendation
It goes well with hearty meat dishes, stews, game or aged cheese.
Vinification
The various grape varieties are vinified separately and aged in French barriques. After the maturing period, the final cuvée is blended. The aging on fine yeast gives the wine additional depth and complexity.
