About the wine
The winemaker from the Spanish winery Pedro Escudero is absolutely proficient in his craft. Elegance and finesse are the characteristics of this white wine, which originates in the picturesque and enchanting landscape of the Duero Valley (Castilla y Leon). Tasting note
The scent of Fuente Elvira from the Pedro Escudero winery is reminiscent of peach, pink grapefruit, passion fruit and some hay. Its fresh aroma is accompanied by beautifully integrated acidity. Thanks to its strong, pleasant structure, it is also known as the “big” brother of Valdelainos Verdejo. It is not without reason that the leading wine magazines give it high marks almost every year.
Culinary recommendation
For an aperitif, Asian cuisine, tapas and various light starters, lamb kidneys, spicy dishes, fish & seafood, as a refreshment on hot days
Vinification
The grapes for this wine come from vines aged 40 years on average from the Fuente Elvira vineyard. Due to the extreme heat, the grapes are always harvested at night before they are brought to the air-conditioned winery for further processing. The aging takes place in steel tanks on full yeast for a few months.
