Tasting note
This Friulano comes in a bright green yellow. The nose is dominated by aromas of citrus fruits, honeydew melons, white flowers and some flint. On the palate, the wine is round, elegant and freshly fruity with well-integrated acidity, some bitter almond and a long-lasting and mineral finish.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with salami, risotto, pumpkin dishes, fish, pasta and antipasto.
Vinification
Friulano, formerly known as Tocai before European legislation prohibited the use of this name, is one of Friuli's most typical and traditional wines. After manual harvesting, the grapes are pressed and fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks. 85% of the aging takes place in stainless steel tanks on yeast and 15% in French barriques. After approx. 8 months, the wine is bottled unembellished and only slightly filtered
