In Fernando Pó, arguably the best growing region on the Portuguese Setúbal peninsula south of Lisbon, winemaker Jaime Quendera vinifies strong and expressive wines at the Casa Ermelinda Freitas winery. The “Fat Baron” wines are a joint work of Quendera and Baron van Zeller, the owner of the famous Quinta de Noval port wine house. The name “Fat Baron” is not due to the baron's body mass, but to his preference for full-bodied wines.
