About the wine
Power and character from Portugal. In Fernando Pó, arguably the best growing region on the Portuguese Setúbal peninsula south of Lisbon, winemaker Jaime Quendera vinifies strong and expressive wines at the Casa Ermelinda Freitas winery. The “Fat Baron” wines are a joint work of Quendera and Baron van Zeller, the owner of the famous Quinta de Noval port wine house. The name “Fat Baron” is not due to the baron's body mass, but to his preference for full-bodied wines.

Tasting note
It's memorable: its elegant purple gives every occasion a special touch. The Fat Baron Syrah Vinho Regional's fruity bouquet of blackberry, bread and marmalade shows aromatic complexity and plenty of culinary potential. The dominant notes of blackcurrant and chocolate create their individual texture. With subdued, finely developed tannins, medium-bodied and dominant acidity, this fruity red wine presents its flawless quality. This top wine was awarded with: Gerstl: 16/20.
