About the wine

The family's story began in 1954 when Emilio Fuselli, a farmer from Marche who had emigrated to Bolgheri in Tuscany, purchased a piece of land from the Marquis Incisa della Rocchetta. Agricultural use of the land enabled him to build a house, the foundation of the family. After him, his son Aldo continued to run the business. He bought more land and began producing olive oil. But it was Maurizio who — after 10 years of experience at the Antinori winery — took over the management of the business. He restructured it from the ground up and specialized it entirely in the production of wine. His great passion for the land, which he had inherited from grandfather Emilio, his stated goal of increasing quality, and his extensive knowledge of growing and producing wine enabled Maurizio to further refine his skills and finally to create a wine cellar: small but innovative and functional, with the intention of combining genuine tradition with advanced winemaking methods. The first harvest took place in 2003, with “Emilio Primo”, named in honor of his grandfather, who had inspired Maurizio and was a pioneer for him.

Terre del MarchesatoRed wine | 75cl13.5Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot
Item no. 1203939
Tasting note
Ruby red color. Elegant and complex nose with aromas of violet, currant, licorice, anise and black pepper. On the palate, Emilio Primo Rosso impresses with great harmony as well as the softness and elegance of its long-lasting tannins. This wine is the foundation of the winery. It is the ultimate expression of a handcrafted product with great potential and outstanding taste characteristics; a fruity, balanced wine yet with a strong personality. As with Superior wines, each processing step is carried out exclusively by hand, and the vinification takes place in cone-shaped steel barrels, followed by twelve-month aging in oak barrels, which completes the character of this wine. This is followed by long final aging in bottles.
