About the wine
Elemento Douro Quinta da Carolina is a fresh, easy-going red made from Tinta Amarela and Touriga Franca grapes. It’s an inviting wine for relaxed nights with friends, offering juicy fruit and a smooth texture — crafted organically for a natural, unpretentious feel.

Tasting note
Elemento is a joint venture between Niepoort winemaker Luís Pedro Candido da Silva and Carmelo Peña (who produces wines in the Canary Islands under the Ikewen label). Balsamic notes on the nose with concentrated aromas of black cherry and berries and a touch of pepper. Wild on the palate, with aromas of black cherries and spicy notes and a touch of earth and clay. Douro in a different way!
Vinification
Old vines 600 meters above sea level. Whole grape fermentation. Macerated for 4 months in a clay amphora. Only minimal addition of sulfur during bottling.
