About the wine
The Egomei winery is a place of pure enjoyment. The town of Alfaro presents breathtaking nature on 120 hectares. The winery is located in the Rioja Oriental (formerly Rioja Baja). Since 1975, the vineyards have been cultivated here with great care; right from the start with the aim of achieving the highest quality for wines made from Tempranillo and Graciano grapes in selected individual vineyards.Highest expertise is also at the heart of the Egomei cellar. The wine is stored in Allier French oak barrels and small tanks until the perfect balance and depth is achieved.

Tasting note
A garnet red, fresh wine with an intense bouquet of blackberry, cassis, dried fruit, cherry and plum, complemented by aromas of chocolate, coffee, clove and pepper. A pleasant opening sweetness, juicy tannins and a very soft, supple and harmonious body as well as a long finish make the enjoyment experience perfect.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with beef with dark sauces, curries.
Vinification
A few words about vinification: The harvest is done by hand and the grapes are transported to the winery in 20kg boxes. After careful reading of the grapes, they are transported to the fermentation tanks by gravity. After malolactic fermentation in oak barrels, the young wine remains on the lees for 3 months. This is followed by a further 18 months of aging in oak barrels and 6 months in the bottle.
