Tasting note
Powerful and expressive with intense aromas of dark berries, cherries and ripe plums, underpinned by fine spicy notes; youthful, dense and round on the palate with smooth tannin and a long, harmonious finish.
Culinary recommendation
It goes well with hearty meat dishes such as game, lamb or beef. It is also an ideal accompaniment to mature hard cheese.
Vinification
The grapes come from carefully selected plots around Kaltern. After manual harvesting, fermentation takes place in small batches to preserve the characteristics of each grape variety. The wine is then aged in barriques, which gives it structure and complexity.
