About the product

The Woodford Reserve Distillery is surrounded by grass hills and horse breeding farms and was built on the site of Kentucky's oldest distillery, the historic Woodford Reserve Distillery, where Elijah Pepper began making whiskey in 1812. Master Distiller James Christopher Crow later perfected his now widely used whiskey production process with sourmash fermentation.

Tasting note
Double Oaked Woodford Reserve Double Oaked is an innovative approach to twice-stored bourbon that creates a rich and colorful flavor like no other bourbon on the market. It all starts with Woodford Reser-ve Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, which is aged in handmade new white oak barrels. The bourbon is then aged a second time in another, new cask. The second barrel is deep roasted and produces Woodford's unique aromas. Reserve double oaked and make it a soft, full-bodied bourbon with a long, rich finish.
Vinification
One of Kentucky's oldest and smallest distilleries. The historic Woodford Reserve Distillery is nestled in rolling grass hills and cattle ranches. One of Kentucky's oldest and smallest distilleries, today's Woodford Reserve Distillery, is built on historic ground, it is located on Kentucky's oldest distillery, where Elijah Pepper began making whiskey in 1812. On the same sacred ground, Master Distiller James Christopher Crow perfected his whiskey-making methods, which are now common practice, including the introduction of sour mash into fermentation. The distillery is home to a 500 foot (150 meter) long, gravity-fed barrel barrel, the legendary copper stills and 100-year-old cypress wood fermentation vats. The Barrelhouse is one of the only ones in the world to have a heating circuit that ensures that every drop of whiskey seeps into the charred and roasted white oak and gives Woodford Reserve its color and characteristic flavor.
