About the wine
Secret Spot Wines: The new elite in the Douro Valley. Douro is probably the most beautiful wine region in the world, 45,000 hectares to the left and right of the river are covered with steep terraces. The traditional buildings with high slate retaining walls are called Socolcos. Patamares the modern terraces without walls, where the rows of vines are planted vertically towards the slope. More than 50 varieties grow here, which can be used for port wine and dry wines. We are deeply impressed and completely convinced of the quality of the wines.

Tasting note
The floral bouquet of DOC Douro Vale do Lacrau Reserva, wooden box of mint, cooked fruit and marmalade cleverly flirts with your sense of smell. Afterwards, floral nuances of violet, blueberry and plum decisively and consciously convince your senses of taste. A red wine with a powerful body and dominant acidity, which develops its complex structure with rich tannins on the tongue and in the palate. This top wine received the award: Gerstl: 18/20.
Culinary recommendation
Our recommendation: Drink this red wine at a slightly chilled 16°C. For barbecues, red meat and tapas, Flaschenpöstler recommend this DOC Douro Vale do Lacrau Reserva, wooden box.
Vinification
Grapes from 25-year-old vines on slate soils; aging for 14 months in French barriques and 12 months in bottle storage in the winery cellar.
