Tasting note
In the glass, the wine has aromas of cranberries, cassis, roses, fynbos and fresh herbs. On the palate, it shows a dense fruitiness, accompanied by refreshing acidity and fine, mouth-filling tannins.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with grilled lamb, Mediterranean vegetable dishes or aged cheese.
Vinification
The Hogan Divergent Red Blend 2023 is a carefully composed cuvée of 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Carignan and 24% Cinsaut. The grapes come from selected, non-irrigated bush grapes from various regions of the Cape: Carignan: Harvested on February 14, 2022 from 19-year-old vines in Wellington Cinsaut: Harvested on February 27, 2022 from 47-year-old vines in the Helderberg region Cabernet Sauvignon: Also harvested on February 27, 2022 from young bush grapes in Helderberg.
