About the wine
Cosimo and Maria Teresa Varvaglione manage their winery in the Salento region of Apulia together with their three children. With the experience and tradition of four generations and the support of dynamic and motivated employees, the company was brought back to life. Varvaglione 1921 takes the best of the region and transforms it into high-quality wines. The starting point for this is the variety of local grape varieties. The credit for making the right choice at the right time belongs to the experienced winemaker. The philosophy of Varvaglione 1921 is based on the combination of tradition and technology.

Tasting note
Intense aroma of red fruits, blackcurrants and cherries. On the palate, dark fruits, green pepper and spices. Round and full, yet soft and elegant with a long-lasting finish.
Culinary recommendation
It goes well with hearty dishes such as pasta with meat sauces, grilled or braised meat and aged cheese.
Vinification
Short cold maceration followed by controlled fermentation at 26-28°C. This is followed by aging in French oak for at least 3 months.
