About the wine
If you want to surprise a wine connoisseur, then with this dominant Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 — Colloredo Cuvée! You can describe the landscape in Lower Austria with such words as mountainous or hilly. However, the Austrian Weingut Hagn is trying to express the beauty of its homeland with this red wine. We think he succeeded! Tasting note
Aged 60% in large wooden barrels and 40% in barriques. The nose shows aromas of blackberries, dark plums and some cassis, plus spicy notes of tobacco, dark chocolate and a touch of precious wood. On the palate with rich tannins, lovely sweetness extract and long aftertaste.
Culinary recommendation
Goes well with dark meat, braised or grilled, but also with game dishes, such as deer or chamois pepper with spaetzle and glazed chestnuts.
