About the wine
This rare, single-varietal vintage champagne, which is considered an authentic expression of the “essence of Krug,” highlights the expression of a single plot of Chardonnay and comes from a single grape harvest. The 1.84 hectare vineyard, which has been surrounded by protective walls since 1698, overlooks the church of Mesnil-sur-Oger, one of the most legendary villages in the region.

Tasting note
This powerful, sensual and vibrant champagne develops aromas of chalk, lemon, apricot kernels, nuts, flint, sponge cake, toast, white grapefruit and quince. It is lively and structured, shows fine bubbles and pronounced acidity. Its long-lasting finish is remarkable.
Vinification
The Krug Grande Cuvée consists of at least 120 different wines from at least 10 years. Each year, they are selected from a range of a total of 400 individual wines (250 from the current harvest, 150 from the repertoire of reserve wines).
