About the wine

Bodega Pujanza is located in the heart of Rioja Alavesa and owns plots there in the best and most elevated terroirs, it was founded by Carlos San Pedro in the mid-1990s. 1998 was his first vintage. Although - La Pujanza - is the strength, Carlos San Pedro's layered riojas do not want to impress with power or impact, but more with finesse uniqueness.

Tasting note
Intense blood-red with violet reflections, very dark in the core. An overwhelming, very complex aroma play unleashes in the nose. The finest fruit aromas in their purest form and extremely delicate spicy notes promise a sensual experience at the highest level. The start is very promising. Highly filigree, pure fruit notes, the very finest spices and mineral depth result in an aristocratic wine of Burgundian finesse. Despite its gigantic density, it appears subtle and its enormous complexity and depth give it great personality. Its perfect structure, the very noble tannins, powerful and building up a lot of pressure as well as a sophisticated acidity play result in brilliant harmony and end in an eternally long reverberation that brings back memories of a very great Burgundy. Simply world-class!
