About the wine
Selvapiana has spent years looking for a new place to grow Sangiovese in order to highlight the differences of this grape variety in the Rufina area. In 1998, the Erchi estate in the municipality of Pontassieve was purchased. Of the 15 hectares, 6 hectares were planted with Sangiovese in 1999. Impressed by the quality of Erchi's Sangiovese, they waited until the wine was bottled for the first time. In summer 2021, part of Erchi fell victim to a fire sparked by carelessness.

Tasting note
Extremely elegant and complex Sangiovese. The red fruit is more prominent than in bucerchiale, and the erchi looks a bit slimmer on the body. The rich, fine tannins make Erchi an excellent wine for storage.
