About the wine
Château Pédesclaux cultivates 52 hectares of vineyards in the Pauillac appellation. The average age of the vineyard is 35 years, the oldest vines date back to 1950. A project to convert the vineyard to organic farming has been launched under the impetus of Manon Lorenzetti, who manages the Lorenzetti family's wine-growing activities. The winery is located on a deep gravel plateau with views of the town of Pauillac. It has a mosaic of terroirs with nineteen different soil types, 70% of which have a high percentage of gravel. These properties also border renowned wineries such as Lafite-Rothschild, Mouton-Rothschild and Pontet-Canet. Pédesclaux uses four grape varieties: 57% Cabernet Sauvignon for the structure of the wine, 34% Merlot for the roundness, 4% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc for the aromatic complexity.
