About the wine
The Château Montrose estate, in the municipality of Saint-Estèphe in the Médoc, comprises 94 hectares of vines, which are planted around the castle. The château was built in 1815 by Etienne Théodore Dumoulin. Very soon, the wines were appreciated by wine lovers, thanks to their specific character and their long shelf life. Today, after the Dollfus and Hostein families, Château Montrose is owned by the Charmolüe family. Montrose wines are among the most renowned in Bordeaux.

Tasting note
It's memorable: its deep ruby red gives every occasion a special touch. The fruity aromas of fruit compote, spices and tobacco express a lot of complexity with a very unique structure. The distinctive nuances of black cherry, black plum and black pepper then show their own character. A fruity red wine with a strong body and dominant acidity, which develops its lively structure in a balanced way with finely developed tannins on the tongue and on the palate. This top wine received the award: Parker: 99 points; Wine Spectator: 97 points.
Culinary recommendation
Our recommendation: The red wine tastes best at a slightly chilled 16°-18°C. The ideal time to enjoy this wine is 2028-2055. With red meat, ribeye steak and pizza with mushrooms, we recommend Flaschenpöstler.
