About the wine
The winery is located in the municipality of Moulon high above the Dordogne valley in the Gironde department in the Bordeaux region. The name is derived from the former Roman settlement “Mont des Lauriers” (Laurel Hill). The heyday was around 1830, when a new then modern winery was installed. This winery has been restored to its original state in recent years and is now a functional museum cellar with the latest technology. The estate has been owned by Luzerner Armand Schuster de Ballwil Senior since 1970. Since 2006, son Armand Schuster de Ballwil Junior has been responsible for production, winery and personnel. The vineyards cover 25 hectares of vineyards, 22 hectares of which are planted with the red wine varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, as well as 3 hectares with the white wine varieties Sauvignon Blanc, Muscadelle and Sémillon.
