Tasting note
Château Moncets, 25 ha in size, honors the qualities of the top dog grape Merlot on the legendary plateau Lalande-de-Pomerol, while small parts of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon contribute to freshness and structure. The winery was founded in the 18th century and became the owner of Général de Moncets in 1872, whose name it still bears today. The average age of the vines today is a respectable 50 years. The team led by estate manager Julien Noël uses it to produce a wine with a bright deep red color and subtle fruit notes, paired with vanilla and cinnamon notes.
