About the wine
The gravelly, calcareous soils north and east of the Gironde and Dordogne form the breeding ground for this Merlot. The winemaker from the French winery Château Lafleur knows how to use them and delights us with this red wine. Tasting note
Very dense purple, purple reflections in it. Rich berry bouquet, beautiful fullness, fresh with gently floral shimmer, probably from ripe Cabernet Franc, cooked cherries, a hint of red fruit compote. Much more fruit on the palate than on the nose, rich extract, elderberry notes, cassis, straight, direct and long aligned, bundled finish, long, deep spicy back aroma, only noticeably strong, supportive tannins in the aftertaste, with potential, smoke and truffles in the finale.
Culinary recommendation
Our recommendation: The red wine tastes best at a slightly chilled 16°-18°C. The following period is the ideal enjoyment phase of this wine: now until 2040. Flaschenpost team is recommended with poultry, slightly spicy red meat and duck.
