Tasting note
Château La Fleur Pourret is a classic example of a wine association in Bordeaux, the big brother is none other than the leading Château Figeac. The Pourret area and its vineyards are located in the legendary St Emilion triangle between the village itself, Figeac and neighbour Cheval Blanc. On this magnificent plateau of Merlot and a considerable proportion of Cabernet Franc (40%), the Figeac team knows how to press an excellent rive-droite wine, which excellently showcases the noble and appealing character of St. Emilion wines.
Culinary recommendation
It goes well with lamb, beef, duck breast or even with aged cheeses such as Brie or Comté.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested manually and sorted selectively. According to a traditional vinifying method, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by aging for around 18 months in French oak barrels (some new barrels).
