About the wine

Höngger vines from the Zweifel family were first mentioned in documents in 1440. In addition to the Klingen and Riedhof sites in Zurich, excellent grapes are brought to Höngg every autumn from our own vineyards in Regensberg, Otelfingen, Stäfa and Remigen AG as well as from friendly regional winegrowers, where city winemaker Urs Zweifel presses with the latest know-how and cutting-edge technology and has made it among the 100 best Swiss winemakers (Vinum).

Tasting note
Exotic notes of mango and pineapple with ripe peach. The wood finish is characterized by creamy vanilla aromas and a fine spiciness. A strong wine with a long finish and a nice melting point.

Vinification
The grapes are harvested when fully ripe and pressed as whole grapes. The aging takes place in barriques. The entire barrel aging process takes nine months. In the first half of the year, the fine yeast is stirred regularly.
