About the wine
In the 1980s, he sold luxury labels in the USA. He then went to Bordeaux to satisfy his thirst for oenological knowledge. Andrea Franchetti finally came to Val d'Orcia in the early nineties, where he laid the foundation stone for his wine project near the village of Sarteano, which he pursued with extreme consistency from the very beginning. Since the premiere with the fruits of the year 1995, which was still experimental, Andrea has not let up in his efforts to create drops that, intensely and so concentrated that you almost have to chew them, are at the very top.

Tasting note
Deep, intense ruby violet red. The nose shows notes of ripe fruit, cherry, currant, blackberry, followed by a slightly woody and spicy touch of white pepper. Enveloping on the palate, with effect, present tannin, still young but elegant. Repeats the fruit and spice notes and the darker toasted notes from the nose. Long-lasting, well-defined aftertaste.

Flaschenpöstler-Tipp: Campo di Camagi IGT passt ideal zu Lammfleisch, Wild und Curry.
Vinification
There are less than 2,000 bottles and the wine is first aged in barriques for 8 months and then aged in a single small concrete tank for a further 10 months.
