About the wine
In the recent past, Simonsig has replanted Cabernet and Shiraz in particular and created an easy-to-drink type of wine with this blend (assemblage). The 275 hectare Simonsig Estate is located northwest of Stellenbosch, South Africa's famous first-class wine-growing region. Simonsig's wine tradition dates back to 1953 with wine pioneer Frans Malan. Today, the three sons Johan, François and Pieter run the winery.

Tasting note
Ruby red color. Aromas of ripe fruit (black berries such as blackberries and cassis), with pleasant acidity and fine tannins. Absolute drinking pleasure.
Culinary recommendation
Ideal with game and wild fowl. Also perfect with Greek-style lamb, barbecues or roast beef. Goes well with medium-heavy meals.
Vinification
The expansion took place in steel tanks.
